I started this blog out of college as a place for me to keep all of my favorite design finds in one place and inspire some of my friends who wanted an interior designer but did not have the funds to use one. Just out of college, I had no idea where this blog journey would take me. I was a twenty one year old with too many ideas to even know where to start and found my blog to be a way for me to share these ideas. I’ll never forget the day I started researching the blogoshere, and I was so intimidated by how many design blogs there were. There has been a ton of hard work making this little gem into what it is today. Since then, I have been able to build my career working for some of the largest and most admired design firms in the world and still share my realistic buys to my readers and dear friends. The road to success in the industry has never been easy. I could not even count how many nights I have worked in the office until midnight trying to meet deadlines and produce that next big design. Design has never been a 40 hour week job for me. Last week, I received an email from a UK based company, Oak Doors, that blew my mind. I am Extremely flattered for Diva On A Dime Interiors to be listed as one of the top 30 best home design blogs by their company. Days like this are what make sleepless nights worth it and keep inspiring me to do more in my career. I am just a small town girl from Michigan that was always told I dreamed too big. I am proof that taking small steps to make your dreams come true is what will path the way to even bigger steps in your career. Never give up even if others doubt your ability to do big things! Believe in yourself! Check out the top 30 home blogs here.

Last New Years, Alexa Cunningham and I made a pact it would be the year of YES. We would live on the edge, travel, start small businesses all in the hope of changing ourselves to become smarter, classier, more successful woman. At times, taking chances and doing things out of your comfort zone can be discomforting yet the year of YES, and looking at things in a positive YOU CAN DO ANYTHING YOU PUT YOUR MIND TOO attitude managed to make 2013 an exceptional year for me. Any great opportunity that came my way I said YES too. I managed to establish 2 successful brands BASH Event Design & Diva On A Dime Interiors meet two of the craziest cats I know Shayne Dalton & Lindsey Morriss DeLany who are incredible business partners. I owe my success to them this past year for always pushing me to be a better designer and laugh while doing it. I am extremely blessed to have been hired by one of the most admired design firms in the world Rottet Studio working on the most high profile hotel brands in the world. The year of YES has been life changing. Say YES..you might surprise yourself.
I hope this year YOU find adventure and make it the year of YES… trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world. Don’t let life keep you from chasing your dreams, don’t worry your dreams are not good enough, whatever it is..art, love, work, family, or life. Whatever you’re scared of doing..DO IT. 2014 is the year of YES. Happy New Dreams. Happy New Days. Happy New Desires. Happy New Ways. Happy New Year. HAPPY NEW YOU!!!
I can’t wait to kick your ass 2014!

As I am writing this post I am thinking of childhood memories at my family cabin in Irons, Michigan. To say the least it was rustic having several deer heads mounted on the walls…cowhide on the floor and the smell of pine trees instantly comes to mind. I would spend my days painting rocks or trees anything that I saw due to boredom.. but this idea never occurred to me! Growing up in Michigan and having a brother and father who are serious hunters, these deer horn art pieces are TOO COOL to add a diva touch to a rustic cabin. ZooKshop changes these rustic animal horns into s modern colorful masterpieces.
